Elmley Nature Reserve

Elmley Nature Reserve is situated on the Isle of Sheppey in North Kent. It is one of the most important UK sites for breeding waders, and is great for seeing a large number of raptors, including all 5 species of owl. From my perspective, it gives a great opportunity to see and photograph Marsh Harriers, a species that you won’t often see anywhere else. Elmley is also great for seeing Hares, offering the chance for close encounters from the comfort of your car on the gravel track that runs through the Reserve.
