Freezing Fog

Taken in January 2021, when the country was once again in the grip of another lockdown due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Restrictions dictated that you should only really travel on foot unless absolutely necessary. With this in mind, when freezing fog was forecast, my options were limited to Tomlins Wood, a short 10 minute walk away. It turned out to be a blessing in disguise. I headed for higher ground, as the hill was shrouded in the low lying fog. The trees up there were all coated in a layer of frost. The silver birches in particular looked amazing, with the frost picking out every detail of the branches. I spent the next three hours losing myself in the woods, as one composition after another presented itself. A magical morning.
