Murmurations

On my first visit I got particularly lucky; the setting sun threw some beautiful pink tones into the sky and the starlings put on quite a show. It must’ve lasted around half an hour in all. It began with a small group of starling and steadily grew, with large groups, seemingly from nowhere, joining up to create ever larger swirls in the sky. Totally mesmerising and unforgettable.

Returning again the following year, the weather wasn’t quite so kind. I decided to head onto the pier for a different viewpoint.

On visit number three I again got lucky with the weather with some beautiful skies, and numbers seemed to be up on previous years, creating some wonderful patterns in the sky.
